All prices quoted on this web-site include collection charges from your house anywhere on the UK Mainland, however, for logistical reasons we reserve the right to increase our rate for the following areas which would be notified to you at the time of quotation.

•Scottish H’lands add £60 to £100 per M3 by sea and road / £0.30 to £0.50 per kilo / 0.005m3 by air.
•Rest of Scotland, Cumbria, Northumberland, Dorset, Devon, Cornwall and Wales add £40 to £60 per m3 by Sea and Road / £0.20 to £0.30 per kilo / 0.005m3 by air.
•Kent, Norfolk, Suffolk, South of M4 but West of Reading, North East, East & South London, Surrey, South East add £30 to £50 per M3 by sea and road / £0.15 to £0.25 per kilo / 0.005m3 by air.
•Not booked your collection 5 working days in advance: Extra Collection rates may apply.
•Our rates include collection from inside your house. We reserve the right to change this to a front door collection due to geographical  reasons, mode of transport used, or due to late bookings.
• Heavy items over 40 kilos or Large items over 0.5m3 may incur surcharges.

For shipments collected directly by international carrier for direct departure collection is usually from the front door and assistance is required by the sender as there is usually only 1 driver.

AIRFREIGHT:  Free collection is available on shipment exceeding 50 kilos. If under 50 kilos collection charges will apply.  Please contact your personal effects advisor.

DOOR TO DOOR BY SEA: Your prices include collection / delivery in-house up-to the 1st floor, destination handling and customs charges.  If not in-house your quotation will clearly state Kerbside.  For EEC destinations please add Vat @ 17.5% to all charges.
Rates exclude: Storage at origin and destination, import duties, customs examination fees, quarantine inspection fees, professional services by tradesmen, assembly and dissembling of modular furniture, collection and/or delivery to/from difficult access or above ground or sometimes 1st floor level, removal of pianos, safes or other large items requiring specialised lifting equipment rates available upon request. These prices are also based upon the laws and regulations in force in the country of destination. Some of which may increase your charges. For EU destinations please add Vat @ 17.5% to all charges.


DOOR TO PORT BY SEA:  Your prices exclude same as door to door plus the following: Destination port handling charges, delivery and destination Customs charges.

WORLD COURIER: Your prices exclude destination duties, taxes, fumigation and quarantine charges (if applicable). For certain countries extra customs charges may be incurred. For EU destinations please add Vat @ 17.5% to all charges. These rates are based on good access for collection and acceptable goods. These prices are also based upon the laws and regulations in force in the country of destination. Some of which may increase your charges. For EU destinations please add Vat @ 17.5% to all charges.

AIRFREIGHT TO PORT ONLY: Same as World Courier plus they exclude Destination Airport Handling Charges, Delivery and destination Customs charges. These rates are based on good access for collection and acceptable goods.

EURO PARCEL & EXPRESS: Your prices exclude Destination duties, taxes, (if applicable non EU Countries only) Delivery is to kerbside only and destination Customs charges @ £25 to non EU destinations only. These rates are based on good access for collection and acceptable goods. These prices are also based upon the laws and regulations in force in the country of destination. Some of which may increase your charges. For EU destinations please add Vat @ 17.5% to all charges.

All services  exclude Storage charges both in the UK and at the destination.

SEAFREIGHT rates are always based on the volume, the weight is irrelevant except for individual large pieces which may require lifting equipment. Seven of our medium cartons, which are about the same size as a large computer monitor box or T-Chest are 1m3. You only pay to the next ¼ of a m3, your rate is not rounded upto the next m3. Therefore, calculate your removal rate by adding the shipping charge and the Process Charge of £30 together, these are the only statutory charges you have to pay. All other charges are optional extras, such as, professional packing, palletising, storage and specialised packaging materials. SPECIAL NOTE: The door to door rates are based on a different type of service to the port only services. Port to port services generally cost less overall and reduces transit times.
Therefore if you had 10 of these cartons which measure 0.140m3 each you would have 1.5m3. Therefore, to Sydney, where the rate is £235.00 for the 1st m3 and £195 per m3 thereafter you would pay £332.50 (£235 + £97.50). Just add the Process Charge @ £30 and any other optional extras. For shipments over 5m3 the rate is just £175.00 per m3.

AIRFREIGHT rates are based on a rate per kilo or 0.005m3, therefore, 1 of our medium cartons which measures 0.140m3 volumes out at 28 kilos, therefore, if you have less than 28 kilos in the carton you will still be charged for 28 kilos and more if the actual weight exceeds this amount. We arrive at 28 kilos by dividing 0.140m3 x 5. Just add the Process Charge @ £30 and any other optional extras. Collection on shipments over 50 kilos is free, less than 50 kilos please contact your personal effects advisor.

EUROPEAN EXPRESS rates are always based on the volume, the weight is irrelevant except for individual large pieces which may require lifting equipment. Seven of our medium cartons, which are about the same size as a computer monitor box or T-Chest are 1 m3. Therefore if you had 10 of these cartons which measure 0.140m3 each you would have 1.4m3. Therefore, to Spain, where the rate is £245.00 for the 1st m3 and £175 per m3 thereafter you would pay £315.00  (£245 + £70) to door + vat @ 17.5% Just add the Process Charge @ £30 and any other optional extras.

EURO PARCEL rates are always based per parcel not exceeding 30 kilos each. (size limitations do apply). Therefore 2 cartons to Spain not exceeding 30 kilos each would be £80.00 (£40 each). + vat @ 17.5%. Just add the Process Charge @ £30 and any other optional extras.

DEPOSIT: We  require payment of the deposit at the time of booking. Normally the deposit is £50.00 + the cost for any specialised packaging materials and upgrades. Should the value of your free  packing cartons exceed £50.00 the deposit will be raised to £100.00. Any unused packaging not returned to Freightworld will be charged for at the full rate. Please see the packaging section. Some larger shipments, Full containers and when a booking is made from overseas, we require a minimum deposit of £100.00. If different the amount will be shown on your quotation.

FINAL CHARGES: Are payable beat the time of collection, we accept all major credit / debit cards, Cheques and we accept cash when Freightworld are collecting the shipment directly on one of our vehicles. When we are not collecting the shipment directly the final charges are to be paid on receipt.  Except for Seafreight shipments cheques must be paid at least 5 days before the departure date. Payment is required in advance for customers not present at the time of collection. The amount maybe estimated and readjusted soon after the collection. Please note that if non payment of charges leads to unauthorised storage, this will be charged at the rate of £25.00 per m3 per week or part thereof.

We normally notify you of the approximate time of arrival shortly after the vessel has sailed, together with all the copy shipping documents by email. Please ensure that you make contact with our agent or the airline before the goods arrive. A good guide for this is SEAFREIGHT 4 DAYS : AIRFREIGHT 1 DAY: EUROPEAN GROUPAGE 1 DAY:
It is not necessary to contact anyone on the World Courier and European Parcel services as these shipments can be tracked on the Internet.
IMPORTANT: Storage charges for uncleared goods can be expensive. Generally, by sea you are allowed 5 days and Airfreight 1 day before storage charges begin. After 3 days these charges can escalate. Therefore, please ensure that you keep in contact with the agent and pay any monies due without delay. If you have a dispute let us know immediately. Customs charge storage every day of the year and these should be avoided at all costs.

Please check before you go about the customs regulations concerning the import of unaccompanied Personal & Household effects. You can call the UK based Embassy or contact the local customs or/and check out their Web-site. Although, we can give advice, this advise is given free of charge and may not be relevant to your circumstances. Some countries have particular stringent rules, which if breached can result in fines, penalties even confiscation of your goods.  These laws are so complex that Shipping Lines and their Agents enforce separate rules of their own to combat  problems that your goods can cause. Therefore please seek professional advice and DO NOT  rely on another persons experience.  We may at times give you information that does not conform to your plans. Please take

SECURITY: IS OF PARAMOUNT IMPORTANCE AND WE ASK YOU TO HELP US IN ENSURING THAT ALL SECURITY REGULATIONS ARE ADHERED TO. MOST COUNTRIES WILL NOT ALLOW YOUR GOODS TO ARRIVE THROUGH CUSTOMS WITHOUT YOU BEING PRESENT IN THE COUNTRY OF DESTINATION. SOME COUNTRIES WILL NOT ALLOW US TO SHIP THE GOODS UNTIL YOUR SHIPMENT HAS BEEN ACCEPTED.
EXEMPT AND RESTRICTED GOODS MUST NOT BE SHIPPED.

All Transit times quoted are approximate, we do not offer guaranteed arrival or delivery times.  Your goods can be delayed for many reasons totally out of our control.  Even so, 90% of the shipments we send do arrive on or around the date quoted.

For all Students with a current Student Union Card we will discount the basic Freight Charge by 5%. Card must be shown.
